Mason County man accused of making child porn video at school

Aug 28, 2013, 11:57 AM | Updated: Aug 29, 2013, 6:18 am

A Belfair, Wash. man is in federal custody, accused of forcing an 8-year-old girl to participate in a sex video inside her school building, and uploading the video to a website.

According to a complaint filed in U.S. District Court in Tacoma, a series of videos were recently downloaded by police in Australia and Denmark from a website known for sharing child pornography. Embedded global positioning satellite data helped the FBI discover that the video was recorded earlier this year inside Belfair Elementary School, in Mason County.

David Michael Navarro, 37, is held on three counts of producing, possessing, and distributing child pornography.

Other videos showed the same girl viewing child pornography on a laptop computer.

An FBI agent says a school counselor identified the girl in the video as a student at Belfair Elementary.

According to investigators, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children had also found the videos and was working to identify the girl, having traced the approximate location where the video was created.
