Seattle Mayor: Latest shooting is ‘reminder of how much work we have left to do’

Five people were shot in downtown Seattle near Third Avenue and Pine Street Wednesday night after an argument near a convenience store.

Seattle Mayor Murray released the following statement:

鈥淭oday, two shootings occurred in Seattle, including one with five victims Downtown. Thankfully, all of the victims are alive and receiving treatment.

鈥淪eattle Police do not currently believe the shootings are linked, nor do they believe there is any tie to tonight鈥檚 march.

鈥淗owever, gun violence remains an epidemic in our country that we must work to address in any way we can. Today鈥檚 shootings are a reminder of how much work we have left to do.

鈥淢y thoughts and prayers are with the victims tonight.鈥
