A mother and her daughter were assaulted and robbed in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood.
The two were walking on East Union Street near Broadway Court around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday when they were attacked by a group of six.
A female with the group punched the 37-year-old mother in the face, according to Seattle police. As she was protecting herself, someone snatched her purse and knocked her to the ground.
The woman’s 17-year-old daughter was punched as she defended her mother.
The group of suspects, which included two females and four males, left after taking the purse.
Witnesses told police they saw two males toss a purse into a garbage can after they ran from the area. Officers found the purse, but the mother’s wallet and phone were missing.
Both victims were treated for minor injuries.
One 17-year-old female was arrested for her alleged involvement in the attack. She was booked into the Youth Services Center for investigation of robbery.
