Numerous school delays, closures in wake of severe storms

School districts across Western Washington are making schedule changes in the wake of this weekend’s severe storm.

The Snohomish school district will have a two-hour delay.

More than 40K still without power; some areas could see light snow

Everett High School is closed due to a power outage, all other schools in the district are operating on a normal schedule.

Most of the Arlington school district will be operating on a two-hour delay.

A full list of delays and closures below:

  • Arlington School District- Arlington High School and Pioneer Elementary closed due to a power outage. There will be a two-hour delay for all other Arlington schools to provide better visibility when transporting students. There will be no out-of-district transportation, no AM/PM APPLE or Presidents Preschool, and no Skills Center or Regional Apprenticeship Program. Several bus routes are also impacted.
  • Grace Academy– 2 Hours Late. Shuttles will run at the 2-hour delay.
  • Lake Stevens School District– 2 Hours Late, No AM preschool, No out-of-district transportation. Lake Stevens High School is closed Monday. Sunnycrest is now open. Visit our for updated information
  • Lakewood School District– Due to the power outage, school is 2 hours late. No out-of-district transportation. Preschool and ECEAP have been canceled. The LHS girl’s varsity volleyball game will take place as scheduled.
  • Snohomish School District– 2 Hours Late. Buses are on regular routes but will arrive two hours later than normal. All regular full-day classes will be held (start two hours later than regular schedules.) Classes will release at normal afternoon release times. No a.m. and/or p.m. half-day special education preschool or ECEAP. No morning elementary band. No morning AIM classes. No zero-hour classes. No morning Sno-Isle Technical Skills Center. No out-of-district transportation. Will recommunicate with Cascade View Elementary or Machias Elementary families at 8 a.m. with any .
  • Stanwood School District– Closed, No preschool, No out-of-district transportation. All schools are closed due to road hazards and power issues in multiple places throughout the district from the weekend’s storm. Elger Bay Elementary remains inaccessible. The is open.
