Suspect arrested in Renton triple homicide case, two escaped the shooting

A suspect was arrested less than a day after three people were killed in a shooting in a Renton neighborhood, the Renton Police Department confirmed.

The shooting occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of Kirkland Avenue N.E. and N.E. 18th Street. When officers arrived at the scene, they found two women, aged 46 and 28, and a 9-year-old girl had been fatally shot.

Two other people in the apartment were able to escape without injury, according to Renton Police.

Multiple K-9 units were deployed in the area, according to , alongside several law enforcement agencies beyond the Renton Police Department.

Using electronic devices recovered at the scene, alongside interviews from multiple witnesses, police were able to track down the suspect and arrest him at 1:30 p.m. Sunday. The suspect, a 46-year-old man, was arrested in South Seattle without incident.

Investigators told ³ÉÈËXÕ¾ 7 the shooting was related to domestic violence. Detectives believe the suspect was in a relationship with the 46-year-old woman who was killed in the shooting, and that he was spending time with the victims earlier that evening.

The Renton Police Department is continuing to investigate the shooting.
