A man posing as a plumber has drained money from at least five different women in Seattle since January in an ongoing scam.
Between Jan. 22 and April 8, the man has approached the women – between the ages of 76 and 91 – and claimed to work for Fox Plumbing. The man has stolen cash, credit cards and IDs, according to Seattle police.
During the man’s latest deception, he talked his way into a home in the with a story about a broken water main. He asked the homeowner to turn on the water in two different rooms, while he stole $300 from her bedroom, according to police.
Police are working to identify the suspect, who the women have described as a white male, between 50 and 60 years old, about 6 feet and heavyset.
Police are also looking for victims who may not have reported being scammed by the same man.
