Snohomish CO recommends masks as parts of Western WA cross into ‘high’ COVID transmission

Snohomish County’s health director is asking people to wear masks again as the county reports 191 cases over a 100,000 population average for the week ending April 25.

Snohomish County has moved from low to medium in the COVID-19 Community Levels outlined by CDC.

Other counties throughout Western Washington are experiencing an uptick as well: Some have crossed into the “high” levels for coronavirus transmission per state health thresholds.

Even as COVID cases rise, mask mandates stay shelved

Pierce county reports that their hospitalizations are up 40% since last week.

Kitsap county’s health director is calling the local omicron subvariant-wave “widespread and rampant.”

Pierce county reports a 60% increase in outbreaks at businesses and long-term care facilities.
