Snohomish CO recommends masks as parts of Western WA cross into ‘high’ COVID transmission

Snohomish County’s health director is asking people to wear masks again as the county reports 191 cases over a 100,000 population average for the week ending April 25.
Snohomish County has moved from low to medium in the COVID-19 Community Levels outlined by CDC.
It’s a good time to return to heightened levels of caution around COVID, including voluntary masking. Case rates have climbed in recent weeks. County Executive Dave Somers and Health Officer Dr. Chris Spitters gave updates this morning:

Other counties throughout Western Washington are experiencing an uptick as well: Some have crossed into the “high” levels for coronavirus transmission per state health thresholds.

Kitsap county’s health director is calling the local omicron subvariant-wave “widespread and rampant.”
