Woman cited twice for DUI on same day

Sep 23, 2013, 3:19 PM | Updated: 3:38 pm

A woman arrested for drunk driving twice on the same day is due in court in Black Diamond.

Police were called to a gift shop Thursday where a woman had crashed into the storefront. Laura Kelsch, 58, was cited for drunk driving and taken home because the city jail was full.

Witnesses say that within an hour, Kelsch returned to the liquor store next door to the gift shop, still drunk. Police were called, again, and she was again cited for drinking and driving. This time she was transported to the jail in Issaquah. She bailed out over the weekend.

The city prosecutor says the citations amount to formal charges and Kelsch will enter pleas to two counts of drunk driving on Wednesday morning.
