Oak Harbor woman charged with murder in fatal SODO van stabbing

Seattle Police Department (SPD) officers arrested a woman on July 29, who was linked to a fatal stabbing that happened earlier that month, SPD .
Jordan Baleigh Weichert, a 35-year-old from Oak Harbor, has been charged with murder in the second degree with a deadly weapon enhancement.

The case originates from a deadly assault on July 14 near 6th Avenue South and South Massachusetts Street in Seattle鈥檚 SODO neighborhood.
Despite efforts from KCSO deputies to save the victim’s life, he was pronounced dead at the scene by Seattle Fire Department personnel.
Officers located the 35-year-old suspect in the afternoon and took her into custody without incident.
Court documents noted that Weichert has three prior convictions for vehicular homicide and two convictions for vehicular assault.
Weichert’s next court date is an arraignment that is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 14 at the King County Courthouse.
