Seattle detectives are working to identify and arrest a suspect who shot two people in south Seattle as he tried to rob them.
Just before midnight Friday night, a suspect came up to two people, a man and woman, in a vehicle at Beacon Avenue S. and S. Fletcher and demanded money.
Police say the suspect then pistol-whipped the woman and fired a gun at both of them.
The man in the vehicle ended up with a gunshot wound to the leg.
A bullet grazed the woman in the arm.
Officers arrived and located the two victims and started giving them first aid.
Medics arrived soon after that, and continued treating the pair.
An ambulance transported the man to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition.
The woman told medics she was ok, and declined further medical treatment from crews on the scene.
Police say they’re not sure if the suspect fired multiple shots or just once.
The suspect took off before officers arrived.
Detectives in the Seattle Police Department’s Robbery Unit began their investigation at the scene of the shooting and followed up by interviewing the victim who was treated at Harborview.
