Two bicyclists have died in separate collisions in Kitsap County this month after being struck while riding at night.
They were riding without lights or reflective gear, authorities said in a .
Driver arrested on suspicion of vehicular homicide
On Saturday, a 42-year-old Bremerton man was hit by a truck in the 5000 block of Illahee Road Northeast. The Kitsap County Sheriff鈥檚 Office said the 36-year-old driver was under the influence of alcohol and was arrested on suspicion of vehicular homicide.
Three days earlier, a crash near Hansville Road and Northeast 288th Street left a 25-year-old Suquamish man dead. Deputies said the driver in that incident was not impaired.
Authorities are urging cyclists to use bright front and rear lights, wear reflective clothing, and avoid dark roads when riding at night.
