SPD officers arrived at the smoke shop and found a black Kia Sportage halfway inside the business. The Kia was used to breach the doors of the front entrance. The suspects had left the area before SPD officers arrived.
A witness told SPD officers that he noticed the driver crash the vehicle into the store, but did not see which direction the suspect fled. The witness also did not see what vehicle the suspects used to flee the scene.
The crashed Kia caused significant damage to the front doors and security gates of the smoke shop. The suspects were not able to enter the business, and no merchandise was stolen.
SPD confirmed that the Kia Sportage was a stolen vehicle from Seattle. The Kia also had a caution alert, as it was connected to an armed robbery.
Major Crimes and Robbery detectives will lead the investigation.
