Amanda Knox is at the Toronto International Film Festival for the debut of the new Netflix documentary based on her trial.

Bremner says Knox, who was accused of murdering her roommate, Meredith Kercher, while studying abroad in Italy, has been living a quiet life in Seattle with her boyfriend and cat, and writing for the

“The only pubic appearances she’s made, besides for this documentary, are for Innocence Project,” Bremner said.

Knox also spent Tuesday at Facebook in Seattle to talk about “the vulnerable intersection between normalcy and public-figure-hood.” She thanked everyone for being kind to her.

In the years that Bremner has spoken with Knox during the trials, she says Knox has become more serious, circumspect, and appreciative of her family and friends.

“She’s grateful that she’s here and she’s grateful for her freedom.”

“Amanda Knox” will be released on Netflix on Sept. 30.
